The NVIDIA AI Research Agent prototype solves this problem by reading, reasoning, and reporting answers automatically. Users interact through a simple, powerful interface: upload a document and type a natural-language question. The agent then reads the document, understands the query, and forms a plan to answer it. Finally, it synthesizes all relevant information into a clear, structured report. If the answer isn’t in the document, the agent even performs a web search to find any missing pieces, ensuring the final report is as complete as possible.
How it Works
AI Agent for Enterprise Research
- Ingest & Vectorize: When a document is uploaded, the system extracts the text and divides it into chunks. An NVIDIA embedding model converts these chunks into vectors, which are indexed in a Pinecone database for lightning-fast.
- Plan: A Planner agent reads the user’s question and devises a step-by-step research plan. It decides whether the answer is likely in the document or if it should also search the web.
- Execute: An Executor agent carries out the plan using specialized tools. It queries the Pinecone index on the document content and calls a web search (via the Exa API) if needed.
- Report: A Reporter agent collects all the gathered information and synthesizes it into a coherent, well-structured answer. The final report directly addresses the question in clear language.
- Live Updates: Throughout this process, every step is streamed to the web UI in real time. The user sees the agent’s thought process – from planning to searching to writing – giving full transparency into how the answer is found.
